Here are the top stories in Concord today:
- The Martinez Police Department says that a murderer was paroled without its knowledge, in violation of the California Penal Code. Curtis Morrison was convicted of murdering Martinez Police Sgt. Tom Tarantino 50 years ago, in 1973. Now, Morrison has been granted parole. "If you were affected by the murder of Sgt. Tarantino, and you would like to write a letter to Gov. Newsom opposing the parole of Curtis Morrison or express concern about why the Martinez Police Department was not allowed representation at that hearing, you are welcome to send a letter to him," at the address in this article.
