Mudslide Blocks East Bay Roadway: CHP

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A mudslide was reported Thursday morning in Contra Costa County following heavy overnight rains in the East Bay and throughout the Bay Area. Mud, debris and rock were blocking Alhambra Valley Road at Bear Creek Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The "large mudslide" was reported at 7:54 a.m. Thursday, according to CHP dispatchers.

At 8:50 a.m., roadway maintenance crews were en route to the scene.
