Oakley Man Charged In Fatal Concord Shooting

Breaking: Police have identified the man accused of murder in the death of Robert Frazier, 42, of Concord.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- Police identified the suspect Wednesday who was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man outside a Concord business early Saturday morning.

The fatal shooting, which killed 42-year-old Robert Frazier of Concord, occurred at about 1:50 a.m. in front of Nica Lounge at 1907 Salvio St., according to police.

After investigating the shooting, officers were able to identify 27-year-old Oakley resident Nicholas Jacobson as the suspect with help from witnesses. Witnesses were also able to identify Jacobson's vehicle, which he
used to flee the scene, police said.

Later that morning, officers located the vehicle outside a home in the 1900 block of Teresa Lane in Oakley.

After obtaining a search and arrest warrant, at about 10 a.m., officers with the Concord Police Department's SWAT team surrounded the Oakley home to serve the warrant, according to police.

As officers arrived, a pit bull at the home charged at and attacked a police K9. In an attempt to stop the attack and prevent further injury, an officer shot and killed the pit bull.

Once inside the home, officers were unable to locate Jacobson, police said.

Officers then learned that Jacobson may have fled in a car that was later reported stolen by one of his family members.

Soon after, California Highway Patrol officers in Stanislaus County alerted Concord police about a collision involving the stolen car.

Jacobson was found to be driving the car and he was taken to a hospital with injuries he sustained during the collision, which were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

After arriving at the hospital, Concord officers were able to detain him.

On Wednesday, the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office charged Jacobson with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jacobson has been released from the hospital and was taken to the Contra Costa County jail where he is being held on $2 million bail, police said.
