- Hey Concord! Learn where you can drop off your ballots, who's running for school district trustee, and what propositions you're going to be deciding in this voter guide from Patch. "We're urging all Californians to vote early this year," said California Secretary Of State Shirley Weber. "You don't have to wait until Election Day because voting by mail makes it easy as soon as you get your ballots. Every person who votes early will help keep lines shorter and reduce wait times at in-person voting locations on Election Day." We're making it easier to do your civic duty! And thank you for voting! - Contra Costa County has approved a plan to allow CEMEX to "transition its quarry to permanent open space when operations eventually conclude at the site," according to CEMEX USA Regional President—California Region Francisco Rivera. The quarry has operated in Clayton for over 70 years. The plan has operations ceasing in 33 years. (Claycord.com)
- A suspect has been arrested in the hit and run that took the life of Walnut Creek business owner Tammy Lee on October 1. 29-year-old Brentwood resident Arck Ramirez has been taken into custody for the incident and a car has been seized as evidence. Ramirez is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Facility and his bail has been set at $300K. (Claycord.com)
- A woman and a juvenile were injured in a shooting on Davi Road in Pittsburg on Friday night. The woman required a medical helicopter and was taken to a local hospital. The juvenile suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder. No further information on the shooter or the victims was available at the time of this writing. (East County Today)

Come to 10 Mount Eden Place in Clayton, CA, on Saturday, Nov. 5, 10 AM to 3 PM and find "bargains galore" while you also support the Diablo Women's Chorale group.
- Did you know that the Bartlett pear orchard at the Bishop Ranch, begun in 1911, was known as the largest single orchard of Bartlett pears in the world? Here are some more fun facts for the City of San Ramon!
