Pedestrian Fatally Struck At Concord Intersection
The victim was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Port Chicago Highway, police said.

CONCORD, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Saturday at a Concord intersection. Concord police officers and firefighters, along with AMR paramedics, were dispatched at about 6:20 p.m. to the collision at Port Chicago Highway and Arnold Industrial Way — north of state Highway 4 near Diablo Creek Golf Course — police Lt. Sam Staten said in a news release.
The victim, found lying in the roadway, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel, Staten said.
Police described the victim as a white male adult, and said preliminary investigation indicated he was crossing the street when a vehicle traveling southbound on Port Chicago struck him.

"The driver of the involved vehicle stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation," Staten said, noting that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
The deceased man's identity will be released by the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
