Fatal Concord House Fire Investigated As Arson, Fire Department Says

The second-alarm fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. Thursday on Euclid Avenue.

CONCORD, CA — Fire investigators determined a fatal fire Thursday night at a Concord home was intentionally set in multiple locations throughout the house, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.

Concord Police and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the fire reported at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 3500 block of Euclid Avenue and found a person dead in the fire.

As of 6:26 p.m., the second-alarm blaze was extinguished, Con Fire said.

"A deceased subject was located at the scene," Concord police said at 7 p.m. "Investigation is ongoing. No other details are being released at this time."

Authorities asked the public to avoid the area.
