Philz Coffee Opens New Contra Costa Location Wednesday
The coffee chain will open its 84th location Wednesday at Concord's redeveloped Willows Shopping Center.
CONCORD, CA — Although the popular coffee company had not announced an opening date in late July, a Concord location was listed as “coming soon."
Now opening day is official. Philz Coffee will open its first Concord store on Wednesday at the Willows Shopping Center, marking the California-founded coffee company’s 84th location.
The Willows Concord shop seats 29 guests and features a custom mural by Bay Area artist Alexandra Bowman. The mural uses Philz’s orange, mustard, and sage palette.

The piece “captures the spirit of connection and hospitality at the heart of every Philz, a reminder that great coffee is best served personally — one cup and one neighbor at a time,” a spokeswoman said.
Philz will also offer a fall menu to match the color palette that includes Butter Pecan Cold Brew and Apple Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew. Northern California locations will offer Pecan Pie Kouign Amann and Cinnamon Maple Morning Bun.

Philz Coffee was founded in San Francisco in 2003. The company creates customized blends roasted at its Oakland facility and makes drinks to order using what it calls its “signature pour-over method.”
The new shop at 1975 Diamond Blvd., Suite C-108, will open from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on its first day.
After opening day, the Concord shop will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
