Here are the top stories in Concord today:

  1. Ozymandias Troy Watson, of Alamo, is accused of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Watson is also accused of providing the pills to someone who went on to overdose. The accused made his first appearance in court on Tuesday. "If convicted of intent to distribute fentanyl, Watson is looking at a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison." (Claycord.com)
  2. Two Pittsburg men were recognized for their bravery in helping to save a fellow citizen from rising waters on January 6, 2023. The victim was at Central Harbor Park during the brunt of the January storm and was unable to escape the rising water. Cesar Medrano heard cries for help and assisted Con Fire in locating the victim. Brandon Carson entered the water to help support the victim until help arrived. Both men were recognized by the Pittsburg City Council. (Claycord.com)
  3. Two different incidents of bad guys trying to outrun the cops resulted in arrest in the area on Tuesday. The first incident was a carjacking near Highway 4 and Alhambra Boulevard. The suspect did enough damage to the vehicle as he tried to evade police that the vehicle was ultimately disabled and he was apprehended. In the second incident, the suspect exited his vehicle and waded across Grayson Creek before he was ultimately apprehended in a nearby parking lot. (News 24/680)
  4. Did you wake up to snow this morning? I bet you can see it on Mt. Diablo if you look in that direction! Snow was forecast to hit 500 feet elevation in the area overnight. While it likely didn't snow in San Francisco proper, they can probably see it on Mt. Tam, and those in the South Bay are probably looking at snow on the Santa Cruz mountains this morning. Beautiful!
