🌱Pleasant Hill Scooters Recalled + PG&E Storm Tips
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Concord.

Good morning, everybody! It's Jeri Karges, your host of the Concord Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening locally. Today we'll cover...
- It's Election Day! Go and vote, Concord!
- One person was injured in a rollover accident on Treat Boulevard on Monday
- Concord's Doppio Zero has the best Neapolitan pizza in the East Bay, according to Diablo Magazine.
But first, today's weather:
Cool with rain. High: 55 Low: 46.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Concord who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Concord Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top stories today in Concord:
- Your ballot must be postmarked today for your vote to count in the midterm elections, or it has to hit the drop box by 8:00 p.m. tonight. Patch has a list of all of the drop boxes and polling places, as well as a rundown on the candidates and propositions so you can cast your vote even if you're feeling a little late to the party. (Concord Patch)
- The storm door is open, Concord, and several storms are expected to pass through it from now until mid-November. PG&E has tips to help you prepare in the event of stormy weather. The utility asks that you report downed power lines immediately. Also, make sure you have a flashlight on hand with working batteries in the case of a power outage. (Claycord.com)
- Have you noticed all of the Bird electric scooters in Pleasant Hill? Unfortunately, so soon after the program launched, it's being suspended. It's not because of anything Pleasant Hill did, though. The Bird company is pausing scooter program due to staffing shortages. It doesn't have enough people to monitor the program. Once that is rectified, you'll see the little scooters back on the streets of Pleasant Hill. (Claycord.com)
- One person was injured in what appeared to be a rollover accident on Treat Boulevard at Oak Grove Road on Monday. Apparently, the driver rolled the car after being cut off by another driver. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but from the looks of the aftermath, it was a very scary situation. (News 24/680)
- If you need a little extra "information" before you cast your vote for Antioch City Council for District 1 or District 4, this guy has you covered. He's an Antioch resident who has a fun parody on each of the candidates. He's going to help you decide based on their campaign posters and, at the same time, offer suggestions to the candidates for how they can improve the signs. (East County Today)

- Head out to Todos Santos Plaza for all of the best tastes of the season at the Concord Farmers Market. (9:00 AM)
- Paint Floral Grace at Twist Tuesday at Painting with a Twist in Pleasant Hill. (7:00 PM)
- It's Salsa Night at Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek. You'll enjoy salsa, bachata, timba and more. And don't miss the taco truck. (7:00 PM)
From my notebook:
- Take part in a Celebrate Life Prayer Walk in Antioch on Saturday, Nov. 12. Meet at Skipolini's Pizza at 8:45 am.
- Diablo Magazine has posted its East Bay Pizza Guide, and two local pizza joints made the cut. For the best Neapolitan pizza, Diablo recommends Doppio Zero in Concord. If it's a square pizza you're looking for, the winner in that category is Freewheel Pizza Co. in Clayton. Enjoy!
- Are you participating in Contra Costa Read? A pre-recorded discussion with the author of the book Portrait of a Thief will be released online on November 15 for you to view.
