Police Arrest Woman In Connection With Park Stabbing

Officers found the victim at Ellis Lake Park in Concord.

CONCORD, CA – Police arrested a 27-year-old woman Monday evening after a man found suffering from stab wounds at a Concord park named her as his assailant, according to police.

Around 5:45 p.m., officers responded to Ellis Lake Park after receiving a report that a man had been stabbed, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from several stab wounds that were not life-threatening, according to police.

The victim told officers a woman whom he knew had stabbed him before fleeing the area. He then provided officers with a description of the suspect, police said.

After looking for the woman, officers located her at the Concord BART station, according to police.

Officers arrested the woman, whose name has not been released, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. She was then booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

Although the suspect and the victim knew each other, the incident was not a domestic violence-related incident, Cpl. Christopher Blakely said.
