Search For French Bull Dog 'Lady' Continues, Suspect Arrested
Police continue searching for a stolen French bulldog after arresting a San Jose man in a burglary and shooting.

BAY AREA, CA — Police continue searching for a French bulldog stolen during a home burglary, even after arresting a man they suspect in the theft of the canine, a shooting, and a series of burglaries.
Christopher Jimenez, 25, of San Jose, faces multiple felony charges after investigators linked him to a May home burglary and a separate shooting later that month, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Police said the investigation began on May 1, when several suspects forced their way into a San Jose home around 11:36 a.m.

The suspects stole thousands of dollars in cash, other property, and the family's gray French bulldog, Lady, police said.
Lady has gray fur and a visible pink scar beneath her chin. She still has not been found. About three weeks later, on May 22, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of Hillsdale Avenue.

Officers found spent shell casings but no victims or suspects. However, investigators identified vehicles connected to the shooting. Police later located the adult male victim, who was not injured.
Investigators found multiple bullet strikes in the victim's vehicle. Detectives identified Jimenez as a suspect in both incidents and obtained an arrest warrant, police said.
On June 20, Livermore police stopped Jimenez during a traffic stop and arrested him on the outstanding warrant. Officers also recovered the firearm investigators believe was used in the May 22 shooting, according to police. J
imenez was initially booked into Santa Rita Jail. Two days later, San Jose detectives took custody of him and transported him back to Santa Clara County, where he was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
He is suspected of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Despite the arrest, investigators said Lady remains missing. Police said French bulldogs have become frequent targets for theft because of their high resale value and are asking for the public's help in locating the dog.
