📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Concord who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

Here are the top stories in Concord today:
- These works of art make me happy because they make me smile! Manny Sanchez got his knack for woodworking at Ygnacio Valley High School with a special mentor named Mr Toliver. Toliver let him work on the woodworking equipment even though the class he was in was metal shop. Sanchez loved the medium and, during the pandemic, came back to it in a unique way. He sees knots and grains with new perspective, making them ostriches in business suits or smoking owls. And they're masterful! Check them out! (Pioneer Publishers)
- There are five construction projects currently underway in downtown Concord with four more in the pipeline. The Grant, on Grant St. between Concord Blvd. and Clayton Road, is nearing completion. The first building is already about 40% leased. The second, luxury building is set to be complete by the end of December. Right down the street Meta Housing Corporation is looking to break ground in December on a large affordable housing project. "This is not Section 8 housing," Councilmember Tim McGallian told the Pioneer. "All units are income qualified, so tenants must be employed." Housing for seniors, veterans and folks with special needs are also in the pipeline. (Pioneer Publishers)
- Unbeknownst to a burglar who was breaking in to Lumpy's Diner in Antioch, he was on Candid Camera. An alarm and video camera alerted the owners who were only a few minutes away. The owner chased the suspect down and Antioch Police arrested him. "The Antioch Police Department identified the suspect as Victor Malaki, 28." (East County Today)
- The San Francisco Giants named Antioch Junior Giants Miles Anthony Ebinger and Candace Knox winners of their Willie Mac award. Ebinger, 11, was the player that most exemplified confidence, integrity, leadership, and teamwork, according to the Giants franchise, and Knox took home the honor for being the volunteer who most exhibited the same traits. Congratulations to our Antioch honorees! (Antioch On The Move)
- The Orinda City Council rejected an ordinance that would have required all new construction to be fully electric. The Council sited a statewide mandate that likely will be enacted soon when they made their decision to reject the ordinance. Further, they said the local ordinance could have detrimental effects on construction that is currently underway in the city. (lamorindaweekly.com)
