S.F. Man Gets 27 Years, 4 Months for East Bay Shooting that Killed 1, Injured Another
The victim's grandfather said at the hearing: 'I wish he would've gotten the death sentence. Not by a jury, but on the street.'

A San Francisco man was sentenced Friday in a Martinez courtroom to 27 years, four months in state prison for fatally shooting a 24-year-old man and also nearly killing his younger brother in an Antioch home in 2013.
Armoun Page, 21, took a plea deal in exchange for the sentence last month before jurors were picked for his trial. He pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter with a firearm enhancement, attempted murder with another gun enhancement and being a felon with a firearm.
Prosecutors said Page shot Khalid Bragg of Brentwood to death in the home in the 2200 block of Banyan Way on Sept. 28, 2013. During the shooting, Bragg shoved a 2-year-old girl to safety and leapt on his brother to protect him, prosecutors said.

The incident severely injured Bragg’s brother, Taaron, who was 20 years old at the time of the shooting.
What incited the shooting was Page’s anger after he thought his gold dental grill had gone missing, prosecutors said.

“Was it worth it?” Charlotte Bragg, the victim’s grandmother, asked the defendant in court Friday.
“Someone killed for something as silly and stupid as that,” she said mournfully.
After hearing of Bragg’s death, she said she couldn’t sleep for a week and the pain is still felt by the entire family.
Regardless, she offered the defendant forgiveness.
“I have to let it go in order for me to survive and to help (the family),” she said.
James Bragg, the victim’s grandfather, said he couldn’t forgive the act; he admitted to the possibility of that being eclipsed by a deep resentment.
“I wish (Page) would’ve gotten the death sentence,” he said. “Not by a jury, but on the street, like he did to (my grandson).”
