🌱Sheriff Livingston & DA Becton Look Safe + PG&E Work On Kirker Pass

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Concord.

(Patch Media)

Welcome back, Concord! I'm here in your inbox today to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on in town. Hope you all have a great day. Here goes.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and hot. High: 94 Low: 65.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Concord who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Concord Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top five stories today in Concord:

  1. Votes cast on Tuesday and mail-in ballots already received by Contra Costa County have been counted. Contra Costa Sheriff David Livingston and District Attorney Diana Becton appear to have defended their seats. For the sheriff, district attorney, and other contested local races, if a candidate receives 50 percent of the vote plus one they will win outright. Otherwise, the top two vote-getters will face off on the November ballot. (Patch)
  2. Walnut Creek Police are searching for a missing at risk individual. Andrea Goulet is an 83-year-old white female who has dementia. She was last seen leaving her residence in the 2100 block of Tice Valley Blvd. at approximately 3:20 a.m. Wednesday morning. If you have seen her or locate her, please call 911. (Claycord.com)
  3. It is expected to be a wild wildfire season this year. Dennis Rein of the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District and Police Chief Ben Alldritt gave updates to the Lafayette Emergency Preparedness Commission on Wednesday, showcasing efforts for public safety power shutoffs and related challenges. The commission also discussed Firewise USA, the program encouraging residents to become Firewise neighborhoods. (Claycord.com)
  4. A Pittsburg law enforcement family got the news no family ever wants to hear. Their little boy has cancer. They are waiting on the confirmation after the biopsy but current signs are leaning toward Burkitt lymphoma. It is an aggressive cancer and they are looking for some help with what may be a very long road. (News 24/680)
  5. PG&E will bury 4.5 miles of overhead wires and equipment on Kirker Pass and Nortonville roads starting in mid-June. This work is part of a plan to ensure safety and reliability in high fire danger areas. Customers in the affected areas will receive notification in advance of the work. (East County Today)
