Man Taken Into Custody After Standoff at Crystyl Ranch

A man was taken into custody Monday after a standoff with Concord police and SWAT teams.

According to Claycord.com and other reports, the unidentified young man surrendered to police about 3:45 p.m. He had been inside his house on Hiddencrest Court in Crystyl Ranch, on the phone with police and his father.

Police had fired a beanbag at the man, but it missed. Earlier, a woman came out of the front of the house.

More details about the incident are unclear.

Lt. Jim Carroll said police received the report about 1:30 p.m. No one had been injured, and one source said that the original report of gunshots was erroneous.
