Soccer fever symptoms were felt all over the world as fans tuned in to watch the first 14 games of the world cup and at this point in the tournament all nations have seen action and the hype has given way to Football and reality.
High Scoring games with plenty of action
so far Brazil 2014 has given us lots of scoring and a high paced level of action, only 1 game ended in a zero draw and it was between minnows Iran and perennial wanna be Nigeria where a tragic bombing targeting soccer fans tainted the world festival of goals.
Team USA wins in agonizing fashion
In what became the first opening match win for American Men since 1930 team USA beat Ghana 2-1 in a game that saw Clint Dempsey score the fifth fastest goals in the history of world cups.
After the early goal, Ghana took the offensive taking aim at goal defended by Tim Howard who held out for 80 minutes until a brilliant piece of skill beat the man who has been frustrating top drawer talent in England since 2003.
It looked like the young Americans would earn a point and live to fight another day when at the 86 minute John Brooks took a Grahm Zuzi Corner cross and headed himself into history 2-1 Team USA.
