'Unattended Fire' Sparks Blaze At Abandoned Coast Guard Property
A firefighter was injured in the blaze that broke out in a vacant building on Mount Hood Circle in Concord, according to Con Fire.

CONCORD, CA — Investigators have determined a recent fire at U.S. Coast Guard property in Concord that left a firefighter injured was sparked by an "unattended fire in a vacant building," according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
Con Fire responded at 8 a.m. Jan. 18 to an alarm coming from the abandoned property on Mt. Hood Circle. Crews found a small amount of fire burning on the first floor of an eight-unit, two-story apartment building, according to a Con Fire incident report.
Smoke was coming from around the eaves of the entire attic area of the building that is behind a secured gate, according to Con Fire's incident report.

PG&E and the Coast Guard also responded to the blaze.
"No one was at the scene and no witnesses saw anyone in the area so it seems unlikely that we will determine a cause on this one at this point," Con Fire Spokesman Steve Hill told Patch.
