Here are the top stories in Concord today:

  1. Concord police is adding officers to patrol for DUI drivers on Friday night. "We want everyone to be as safe as possible, especially when they are on the road," Lt. Gregory Rodriguez said. CPD reminds you that impaired driving is not always drunk driving. Driving under the influence of other drugs, and even some over-the-counter drugs, is dangerous and illegal. (Claycord.com)
  2. We have some impressive young people in and around the Concord area. They're stepping up this holiday season as part of the service clubs at their high schools. "So many people today face harsh living situations, and it's our responsibility to ensure that they are heard and supported," said Tommy Nguyen, president of Concord High School's Key Club. (Pioneer Publishers)
  3. Tri-Delta Transit has a new Chief Operating Officer. Toan Tran will take over the position on December 12. He "comes to Tri Delta Transit with over 20 years of experience working in the transit industry." (Contra Costa News)
  4. In a split decision, Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors decided Tuesday to allow the sale of non-flavored cannabis products in the unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County. The vote was 3-2 in favor of the ordinance, with supervisors Candace Andersen and Federal Glover dissenting. (Contra Costa News)
  5. Danville is losing a beloved "Michelin-approved" restaurant! The Sendee family is closing the doors of the revered Thai House Restaurant as of Christmas Day. They will focus on rest and retirement, they say. Good for them! But bad for my taste buds. (Mercury News via MSN)

Are you a Concord resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market? Consider fine art. Masterworks is the award-winning platform helping 575,000+ invest in works by the same world-renowned artists that are coveted by ultra-wealthy collectors and major museums alike (think Picasso, Basquiat, and Banksy.) Masterworks splits these multi-million dollar works into shares, so you can invest without breaking the bank.

Contemporary art has outpaced the stock market by a whopping 131% over the last 26 years. Seven of Masterworks' eight sold paintings gave their investors a +17.8% net returns*.
