Woman, Little Boy Hurt In Morning Collision On Concord Boulevard At Galindo

BREAKING: Airbags deployed and injuries sustained were minor, police said.

CONCORD, CA – A woman and a 5-year-old boy suffered minor injuries this morning when their car was hit by a pickup truck that apparently ran a stoplight in Concord, according to a police spokesman.

The woman and child were in a Lexus driving on Concord Boulevard at the Galindo Street intersection at about 8:30 a.m. when a man in a Dodge pickup ran the light, according to Concord police Cpl. Christopher Blakely.

The woman and boy were taken to a hospital as a precaution. Drugs and alcohol aren't suspected in the collision, Blakely said.

Police closed Galindo Street from Concord Boulevard to Clayton Road for about 30 minutes while crews worked to clear the intersection.

Both vehicles were moderately damaged and deployed airbags in the collision, Blakely said.
