Woman's Body Found In Byron Field

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A woman's body was found in a field Monday morning in Byron and authorities believe she may have been living at the location. Deputies with Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office Delta station responded just before 9 a.m. to a report about a possible dead body in the area of Byron Highway near Herdlyn Road in Byron, sheriff's Spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

"Deputies arrived on scene and located a female body in the field," Lee said ."She was confirmed to be deceased."

The Coroner’s Division was working to confirm the woman's identity and determine her cause of death.

There were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play in the woman's death, Lee said.

Authorities determined the woman appeared to be living at the location, which was near the Byron Airport and the Clifton Court Forebay.
