Players without partners can be matched by organizers.
2. Coronado Schools Foundation's 'The Golden Gala' is one month away (coronadotimes.com) — Coronado Schools Foundation is hosting "The Golden Gala" at the Hotel del Coronado on Sept. 12 to fund STEM and arts programs for local students. Guests can enjoy dinner, dancing, a Golden Auction, and an exclusive afterparty, with tickets, sponsorships, and auction donations now being accepted. Local families and businesses are prominently backing the event.
3. Officials Adopt Ordinance To Limit Single-Use Plastic Bottles At Events In San Diego County (patch.com) — Vista has adopted an ordinance restricting single-use plastic water bottles at city events, joining San Diego County cities like Coronado, San Diego, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. The rules limit small plastic bottles at city properties and events, with phased implementation for youth sports and large gatherings. Vista is also exploring curbs on polystyrene products.
4. NEWS: Sens. Schiff, Padilla & San Diego Congressional Delegation Demand Answers Surrounding the Extended Deployment of USS Abraham Lincoln (senate.gov) — Families from Coronado and greater San Diego, including those who spoke at an August 6 town hall in Coronado, are at the center of a new push in Washington to investigate the USS Abraham Lincoln's extended deployment. California senators and local House members are demanding an Inspector General review of reported food shortages, unsanitary conditions, and mental‑health strains on the San Diego‑based strike group.
