• Coronado Bridge is getting its anti-suicide barrier. Next could be $400M in structural upgrades. (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Coronado drivers can expect a new 8-foot suicide barrier on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge starting this fall, with construction lasting about two years. Caltrans is also planning a $350–$450 million seismic and ship-collision retrofit of the bridge's underwater supports, aiming to protect Navy access, regional traffic, and reduce lengthy closures from suicide attempts.
   

• Community raises $520,000 for Sharp HospiceCare at annual regatta (coronadotimes.com) — Coronado Yacht Club helped power a major community win as more than 1,500 guests raised $520,000 for Sharp HospiceCare during the annual benefit dinner and regatta on San Diego Bay. The funds support residential hospice homes, in-home care, grief services, and expanded access through the new Moore MountainView Hospice Home in Poway.
