A Border Pollution Crisis is Undermining America's Elite Warfighters (sof.news) — Navy SEAL candidates training off Coronado are repeatedly entering ocean water contaminated by sewage from the Tijuana River, with hundreds of documented illnesses and frequent test failures of state safety standards. Local leaders in Coronado, including the city council, school district, and former mayor, are lobbying, suing, and seeking emergency funding to force stronger U.S.-Mexico action, as federal agreements have yet to stop the pollution threatening residents and military readiness.
