A haunted tour of the ghostly legends at the Hotel del Coronado (coronadotimes.com) — If you're looking for a spooky night out close to home, the Hotel del Coronado's nightly Haunted Happenings Tour dives into local ghost stories, including the legend of Kate Morgan. Tours start at the Ice House Museum, run about an hour, and are geared for ages twelve and up, giving Coronado residents a fun way to explore hometown history with visiting friends or family.
3. County approves $5.8 Million to plan its own fix for Tijuana Sewage Crisis (coronadotimes.com) — San Diego County supervisors have approved $5.8 million in planning funds toward a local fix for the Tijuana sewage crisis, a problem that affects coastal communities including Coronado. The money will design key infrastructure and could be paired with future sales tax revenue and grants, while some officials push for stronger pressure on Mexico and broader regional cooperation involving Coronado.
4. End the War in Iran — Bring Our Families Home: Friday, Sept. 11th in Coronado (obrag.org) — This afternoon, Coronado's Sunset Park will host a rally organized by veterans' and peace groups calling for an end to the war in Iran and the return of U.S. troops. Local residents are invited to gather at 2 p.m. to hear speakers, join the protest, and add their voices to a regional push for changing national policy.
