Bacon & Barrels

On Saturday, May 31 bacon lovers head to the Embarcadero’s Marina Park South to experience a day full of bacon and artisan and craft barrel beverages at San Diego’s first Bacon and Barrels festival. From 1 to 5 p.m., visit over 140 food and libation booths to nibble on some of the most imaginative bacon recipes from San Diego chefs and sip whiskey, scotch and tequila tastings from some of Santa Barbara’s hottest boutique wineries and unique, high-end small batch purveyors. Stone Brewing, Firestone, and Figueroa Mountain Brewing will also be on hand to sample exclusive craft beers. Surprises from Top Chef Alum, Brooke Williamson and live music from indie favorites, The Stone Foxes and Black Crystal Wolf Kids are also not to be missed. For those who take their bacon and spirits seriously, Bacon & Barrels is hosting a V.I.P. (Very Important Pig) experience, which kicks off on Friday, May 30 with an all bacon dinner wth Brooke Williamson and beer and bourbon pairings by “Dr. Bill” Sysak of Stone Brewing and continues on Saturday with a special lounge featuring local chefs and mixologists preparing their best bacon and barrel-drink creations.

Tickets for Bacon & Barrels range from $75 for General Admission and $95 for Early General Admission (early festival access at 12 p.m.) to $300 for V.I.P. (Very Important Pig) that includes Friday night diner and 12 p.m. entrance to Saturday’s festival lounge with a special tasting. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation. Embarcadero Marina Park South is located at 1 Marina Park Way, San Diego, CA 92101.
