Barons Market Announces Plans To Open In North Park
This will be the San Diego-based company's seventh supermarket, and will open in old Fresh & Easy site.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- Barons Market, a locally owned grocery chain, will open a store in the North Park neighborhood, the company announced today.
The store -- the chain's seventh -- will be located at 3231 E. University Ave., where Fresh & Easy once operated. Noted for carrying all-natural food products, Barons has three other San Diego County stores in Point Loma, Rancho Bernardo and Alpine.
"Barons Market and North Park are a match made in food heaven,'' said Rachel Shemirani, Barons' vice president of marketing. "We stock our shelves with good food, craft beer and locally grown produce, all things that the North
Park community values.''

The new store will feature an olive oil and vinegar bar, a soup and salad bar and more than 400 craft beers.
The company did not give a firm opening date, but said it will collaborate with architect John Ziebarth and interior designer Julie Dugas of Studio H2G to turn the existing 15,000-square-foot space into a modern-day grocery store that matches North Park's artsy, eccentric character.
