How to Wear Shorts & Rock Them!

Don't just think of those old faithfuls as just for a casual day or to slip on to the beach!  Shorts can be a staple in your wardrobe as well as make a great style statement

There are so many great ways to wear them and I want to show you how!  Follow my style tips and you'll be sure to look and feel great in a pair of shorts even for an evening out!

USE FEMININE STYLES & FABRIC

Mix a casual look short with a blouse or lace style top to bring a feminine edge to shorts which feel more casual.  This will take the shorts up a gear to dressy and cute.  We've got some cute lace tops in-store at the moment which work so well with shorts 

ADD A HEEL

Don't think you just have to throw on flats or flip flops with your shorts, adding a heel or a wedge will give you a great staple and alternative to jeans for an evening out or a dressier lunch

ADD TAILORING

Tailored or relaxed style shorts work so well with blazers, the tailoring adds a smarter feel.  Just change up the overall look with heels for a night out or flats for a casual take and let the jacket take the shorts to a smarter place

MIX UP THE COLORS

Neutral toned shorts in khaki, stone or beige will work with any colour combination as they're great neutrals.  Don't be afraid to add in some bright colours too to lift the look in the top, heels and accessories mix

WEAR WITH CONFIDENCE

Lots of women get scared when it comes to shorts and I always hear clients telling me they don't have the legs for them!  It's all in the cut of shorts and how you style them up, you can all rock them ladies, just give them a try!

GO FOR A LONG SLEEVE LENGTH

A good rule of thumb when one hem length or sleeve length is shorter is to wear the other one longer.  What I mean is if you're wearing a shorter sleeve length, teaming a longer skirt length will keep your look sophisticated and a little warmer when the breeze hits!  Equally going for a longer sleeve length with a shorter hemline or shorts will bring a stylish take on your casual shorts and tank look
