Lee Mather Realtors Smothers Village Theatre In "Chocolat"

Local Realtor (Lee Mather Co., Realtors) hosts friends and clients to special screening of movie, "Chocolat," at Coronado Village Theatre. Chocolate was the theme.

CORONADO - Nearly 100 people turned out at the Coronado Village Theatre, last Thursday evening, as guests of Lee Mather Co., Realtors (LMCo) for their Second Annual Client Appreciation Night.

The event involved a special screening of the movie, “Chocolat” (2000), starring Johnny Depp, Juliette Binoche, Dame Judy Dench and an all-star cast. LMCo commissioned the Village Theatre for the screening and invited friends and customers.

The theme of the film, of course, was chocolate, and guests were greeted with mounds of special chocolate candies cast in the shape of pineapples. The pineapple is a traditional icon of friendship and hospitality, and is a visual element in the LMCo logo.

“This is just our way of doing something very different, and very special for our many clients and friends in the community,” said Debbie Riddle, who, along with partners Tom Riddle and Mike Herlihy, manages Coronado’s oldest Real Estate company (60 years).

The first Client Appreciation Night was held last October and featured the film “Some Like It Hot.” A Marilyn Monroe actor surprised the crowd by running through the theatre yelling, “Wait for Sugar.” While no such stunts took place this year, guests thoroughly enjoyed the friendly environment, a classic film and endless supplies of chocolates.
