Apocalypse: Coronado Bridge, Convention Center Depicted in Movie Ad

Ahead of Comic-Con and the DVD release of the sci-fi movie Oblivion, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released an image of what a post-apocalyptic San Diego might look like.

In the foreground is the convention center and a "San Diego Comic-Con International 2013" sign. In the background is a crumbling San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge.

The movie starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman imagines Earth in the year 2077 following a war with aliens.

"This is an artist's rendition of what San Diego would look like in that world," said Universal Studio Home Entertainment Vice President of Publicity Evan Fong.

Comic-Con starts Thursday. Oblivion is out on Blu-Ray and DVD Aug. 6.
