Comic-Con Day 3: Zombies, Dragons, Video Games and TV

By Luis Monteagudo, Jr.

Comic-Con has often been referred to as pop culture nirvana and Day 3 on Saturday proved why that's so.

In the north corner of the San Diego Convention Center's Exhibition Hall, video game giants Xbox and Playstation showcased their new systems and upcoming games.

Fans got to play with the highly anticipated new Playstation 4 console and some of it new games, including "Batman: Arkham Originals." The stunning photo-realism of the new system was on display in cut scenes from the much-hyped "Watchdogs," with scenes looking like high definition video.

Meanwhile, in room 6BCF, three of television's most popular shows were spotlighted in panels featuring their producers, writers and cast.

NBC's "Grimm"  teased fans with a clip from the upcoming season. Producers promised more action, new creatures and a new Grimm.

At the "Person of Interest" panel, the talk centered on the incredible parallels between the real-world controversy involving NSA spying and the show's plot about a machine that can see and hear everything.

"I'm blown away by this NSA stuff and how it runs  with  the show," said actor Kevin Chapman.

Meanwhile, the creators and cast of the new hit show "Revolution" revealed little about the upcoming new season, but said it would go back to its roots, with the post-apocalyptic world being once again unplugged and left without power leading to a "very intense second season."

Outside the Con, on the streets of the Gaslamp, it was time for the annual Zombie Walk. This year's walk, however, had to compete with many other fans dressed in costume, including one in an elaborate and beautiful dragon suit.

There was plenty for everyone to enjoy on the streets of downtown. It was San Diego's own, unique version of Mardi Gras.
