Coronado Celebrates Completion Of Glorietta Bay Boat Launch Ramp
The city of Coronado and the Port of San Diego celebrated the completion of the $1.3 million public access project with a ceremony Monday.

CORONADO, CA – The new and improved Glorietta Bay boat launch ramp is now open. The city of Coronado and the Port of San Diego celebrated the completion of the $1.3 million public access project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday.
“The city of Coronado is proud to present this public recreational project that has added many new enhancements to the Glorietta Bay facilities,” Coronado Mayor Richard Bailey said in a statement. “Now our residents and visitors will be able to enjoy an expanded facility that is modern, functional and accessible for boaters, kayakers and paddle boarders, including people with disabilities.”
Construction on the project began in late February 2017.

The Glorietta Bay boat launch ramp was reconstructed and expanded to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Other improvements at the boat launch facility included resurfacing the parking lot, installing a new boat wash-down area, and repairing a small area of riprap and existing storm drain in the northern beach area of Glorietta Bay Park.
Improvements were also made to Dock C to meet fire and electrical code requirements, as well as ADA and boating design standards.
