Are you proud of this Enchanted Island? Want to share its history with visitors from all over the world? The Coronado Historical Association is looking for several new volunteer docents for its weekly Hotel del Coronado Tours and Coronado Heritage Walks. Docents for the Hotel tour are carefully trained using an official script developed by the Hotel Del Coronado’s historian. Besides one-on-one training with a current docent, new Heritage Walk volunteers are also provided great resource materials and background information on many local architectural gems--historic buildings and homes--in the downtown area, Star Park Circle and along Ocean Boulevard.
After training, docents should be available to lead two small group tours monthly (donating a minimum of four hours per month). Spending just a few hours sharing our colorful history has its perks, too, including invitations to special events and discounts for local attractions. Besides, it’s a great way to meet new people.
