Morse Uses Big Second Half to Down Islanders 32-7

After Coronado takes a 7-6 lead in the third quarter, the Tigers score the game's final 26 points.

Matt Halvorson scored the lone touchdown for Coronado High in a 32-7 loss to Morse on a rainy Friday night, dropping the Islanders to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Central League.

After a scoreless first quarter, the host Tigers (5-3, 3-1) went ahead 6-0 at the half on the first of two touchdowns by running back Tracy McNair. When Halvorson scored from a yard out and Robby Weissenfels added the placement, Coronado led 7-6 in the third quarter, but a 40-yard interception return by Christian Burger gave Morse a 12-7 lead through three quarters.

The Tigers pulled away with three rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
