100+ Years of Coronado Yachting
Coronado has a long and illustrious history as a center for yachting of all kinds. An exciting new exhibitopening August 16, 2013, at the Museum of History & Art will feature historic photos and artifacts from each yacht club on the island, most notably the Coronado Yacht Club, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2013. Highlights include an Olympic Gold Medal in sailing won by native son Robbie Haines in 1984, a beautifully crafted wooden sabot built by a local craftsman and a touch-screen video kiosk featuring recorded interviews with long-time Coronadans about their yachting and racing experiences.
