Noise Advisory: Naval Base Coronado Conducting Weapons Training This Week

CORONADO, CA — Sounds of gunfire might be heard today and Thursday as the Navy conducts a training exercise at its Silver Strand Training Complex.

The training is scheduled to take place each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a "closed quarter combat training facility" within the complex between Silver Strand State Beach and the city of Imperial Beach, according to a Navy statement.

Those in the immediate area may hear blank munitions firing throughout the exercise. Online noise complaint forms can be found on Naval Base Coronado's website.
