“Grimm” – NBC’s fractured fairy tale loosely based on “The Brothers Grimm” focuses on a Portland police detective who battles a variety of dangerous creatures. But it’s his sidekick and his fiancée that have totally captured our heart – Monroe and Rosalee. He’s a reformed Blutbad (a wolf like creature) who fixes clocks and she’s a Fuchsbau (a fox like creature) who runs a supernatural pharmacy of sorts. The oddball relationship of the two has slowly built to their recent engagement and we can’t wait for what should be an unusual wedding. The writers and the actors playing the two characters, Silas Weir Mitchell and Bree Turner, deserve credit for creating two out-of-this-world, yet charming characters who are perfect matches. Not everything has gone smoothly for the two, what with Monroe’s disapproving parents and Rosalee’s troubled past. But here’s hoping the show keeps these two together.
“Bob’s Burgers” – Step aside Homer and Marge. Animation domination’s new power couple is Bob and Linda, the owners of a hole-in-the-wall burger joint, and parents of three out-of-control children. Bob is like many weary, small business owner, putting in long hours and trying to survive against better and bigger restaurants. Linda is the optimistic dreamer who yearns to establish her own identity as more than just a mom and a wife. It’s in the differences of those two personalities and their loyalty to each other and their family that makes them such a romantic couple. Linda will stand by her man no matter what crazy idea he may have to bring more customers into his restaurant. It may be a cartoon, but “Bob’s Burger’s” is perhaps the most realistic, working class sitcom since the early, outstanding years of “Roseanne.”

“The Mindy Project” – Television’s newest fun couple is Mindy Lahari and her fellow doctor, Danny Castellano. The two are partners in a New York City OB/GYN practice and from the show’s first episode they have been a collision course. Mindy’s love life is in constant disarray and she dreams for the perfect relationship that she has seen in the romantic comedies she’s obsessed with. Danny is a perfectionist about work who criticizes Mindy for bringing her love life problems into the office. So, like in true rom-com fashion, they are bound to get together, right? Well, it’s taken a while but their relationship culminated in the most recent episode in a kiss that could shake up their worlds. “The Mindy Project” has gotten sharper and funnier in its second season and this new relationship could be the start of something hilarious.
“Modern Family” – There are plenty of couples to choose from on this show but our favorite is the great pairing of Cam and Mitchell, TV’s most prominent gay couple and one of the funniest couples on television. Cam is the former football player, professional clown and Missouri farm boy living with Mitchell, the uptight, nerdy city boy. These two opposites are definitely attracted to each other, but like many couples, they also have known each other long enough to have stockpiled a list of annoyances and aggravations about each other. The result is constant teasing and arguing, but the good, funny kind. And by the end, like all good couples do, they resolve their disagreements and express their love for each other. Having already adopted a child, Cam and Mitch are now preparing for a wedding and we can bet there will be some laugh out loud moments along the way
