Rep. Peters Joins House Sit-In on Gun Legislation
Democrats are demanding a vote.
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Scott Peters, D-San Diego, was part of a group of Democratic lawmakers stage a sit-in protest Wednesday inside the House of Representatives.
The sit-in is to "demand a vote on a piece of legislation that would block the sale of firearms to individuals on the terror watch list," according to the Congressman's office.
"We're still here. No end in sight," said Jacob Peters, press secretary for the Congressman, at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday.

The Congressman says they "just want to vote on commonsense measures to curb gun violence."
Official video recordings of House business have been suspended but the sit-in continues.

"They can turn off the cameras, but we won't be silent," Rep. Peters said. "It's beyond time for a vote on a bipartisan proposal to keep guns out of the wrong hands."
