San Diego County Sheriff's Department: Amtrak Train Vs. Pedestrian Collision

On 11/15/2021, at approximately 1658 hours, deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station's Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a northbound Amtrak train in the city of Carlsbad. The pedestrian was in a wheelchair when he was struck at the Carlsbad Village Dr. grade crossing. Upon the arrival of officers from the Carlsbad Police Department, the subject was deceased. Deputies are investigating the incident and manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
