SDG&E, Padres Go to Bat for San Diego Nonprofits
The two entities aim to provide more than $500,000 to local organizations this season.

San Diego, CA — San Diego Gas & Electric and the San Diego Padres are teaming up to make the 2016 season
about more than baseball.
SDG&E and the Padres will be supporting more than 20 local nonprofit organizations through a major season-long giving initiative: "Going to Bat for San Diego," the two entities announced Wednesday.
By the end of the regular season, SDG&E, in partnership with the Padres, will provide more than $500,000 in charitable giving to organizations working to better San Diego, according to a news release.

“San Diego is more than where we do business, it is our home,” said Jeff Martin, SDG&E San Diego region chairman, president and CEO. “Imagine the possibilities that can be unlocked when you have two San Diego institutions working together for the same cause — supporting great organizations that are committed to making our community better each and every day.”
From first responders and emergency services, to youth outreach and veterans’ programs, Going to Bat for San Diego aims to serve the communities throughout San Diego and southern Orange counties.

“The San Diego Padres are committed to making a difference in the San Diego community, especially through the organizations that support our military and first responders and their families, and those that encourage and support underserved youth,” said Ron Fowler, San Diego Padres executive chairman. “We are proud to partner with SDG&E, another community-focused organization, to highlight the great work these charitable partners do in our neighborhoods every day.”
Through various events and donation drives, Going to Bat for San Diego will help advance the efforts of the following organizations:
