SDG&E Receives Reliability Award from National Tech Firm

SAN DIEGO -- On Nov. 16, San Diego Gas & Electric was one of six major utilities across the country to receive a regional award for reliability from technology firm PA Consulting Group.

PA Consulting's "ReliabilityOne Awards" recognize North American utilities that excelled during the course of the year in a number of critical industry categories including reliability, storm response, technology and innovation, and customer engagement.

The awards, according to PA, are considered one of the most prestigious honors in the electric utility industry. They recognize organizations that provide their customers with the highest levels of reliability.

For the 2015 calendar year, PA recognized six regional ReliabilityOne winners from utilities across the U.S., with the selections based on overall system wide performance in both outage duration and frequency. San Diego Gas & Electric won the award for the Western Region.

Coincidentally, the awards reception itself was held in San Diego; it was at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, before an audience that included senior management of leading utilities, industry regulators and energy industry experts.
