CORONADO, CA – A teenager has been charged with criminal threats, after a social media post prompted a lockdown Thursday at Coronado High School.
The campus near Spreckels Park was on lockdown around 10:30 a.m. Thursday due to a threat made on social media, according to the Coronado Police Department. Teachers kept all students secured in their classrooms while officers conducted a sweep of the school at 650 D Ave.
Police determined that the student who made the threat and no weapons were on campus. The lockdown was lifted about a half-hour later after officers deemed the campus safe.
