Threat To Coronado Schools May Be Linked To Online Hoax: Police

Coronado schools have not been placed on lockdown, police said.

CORONADO, CA – Police said that a threat sent to the Coronado School District may be tied to an online hoax.

After receiving an email threat that was "non-specific to Coronado," district officials contacted the Coronado Police Department.

"Safety precautions were immediately put into place," police said.

Police discovered that at least four other school districts in San Diego County received the same email threat. They believe the threat may be linked to a hoax that went nationwide overnight.
