While the Region Bakes, Coronado Will Remain Mild
Forecasters expect temps in the community in the low- to mid-70s through week's end.

It's going to be a hotter than usual start to the work week, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits, forecasters said.
So Coronado might need to brace for more visitors seeking to escape their own sweaty conditions: It is 74 degrees at midday Monday, with a high of 71 expected Tuesday, warming slightly to 73 degrees Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
High pressure over Utah will spur a warming trend over the same period that will cause temperatures in much of San Diego County to be 8 to 12 degrees above average for this time of year, according to the weather service.

The agency urged residents to avoid strenuous outdoor activity, if possible. It also warned against leaving children or pets in an enclosed vehicle, even briefly.
Due to the weather, Cal Fire issued a no-burn proclamation this morning, meaning the use of any open fire in the county is forbidden until further notice.

Temperatures are expected to peak between 95 and 105 degrees in the inland valleys; 90 and 100 in the mountains below 6,000 feet; 75 and 90 in the mountains above 6,000 feet; 115 and 120 in the lower deserts, and 100 and 110 in the upper desserts.
"This weather could be deadly for unprepared campers or hikers," according to an NWS advisory.
