20 Culver City Businesses Awarded Sustainability Certifications

"Collectively, we are making a difference, one business at a time," Culver City Mayor Thomas Aujero Small said.

CULVER CITY, CA – Twenty sustainable businesses were newly-certified as part of Culver City's Sustainable Business Certification Program.

Sustainable Works and Balanced Approach developed a customized Certification Program in coordination with the City that is supported by the California Green Business Network (CAGBN) guidelines, the Culver City press release said. The Certification Program targets retail, office and restaurant businesses, offering the best practices and resources for reducing energy and water use, preventing pollution, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and diverting waste from landfills, the City said.

“I am proud that the City, our partner organizations and local businesses have come together in the name of greater sustainability, which will benefit our entire community,” said Culver City Mayor Thomas Aujero Small. “Partnerships such as these are key to making Culver City more environmentally friendly and able to thrive. Collectively, we are making a difference, one business at a time.”
