1. Delivery Robots Are Coming to Culver City (westsidecurrent.com) — Delivery robots are set to begin operating on Culver City sidewalks under a newly approved one-year pilot program. City officials will finalize service agreements and regulations with companies like Coco and Serve before the low-speed devices start carrying food and groceries on short neighborhood trips. The trial will test impacts on accessibility, safety, emissions, and how robots share space with pedestrians.
2. Police corner catalytic converter theft suspects during freeway entry on SR-90 (westsidetoday.com) — Culver City police used a Flock license plate reader alert to stop a car entering SR-90, arrest two people on probation, and recover a freshly cut catalytic converter and theft tools. The department is urging residents to park in secure, well-lit areas, consider anti-theft shields, mark converters, and immediately report anyone seen under parked cars using cutting equipment.
3. Fiesta La Ballona Ride Wristbands Now On Sale (culvercityobserver.com) — Fiesta La Ballona returns to Veterans Memorial Park next weekend, bringing Culver City's 75th anniversary "Party at the Park" with rides, food, and live entertainment on two stages. Entry is free, but ride wristbands are now on sale for the three-day celebration. Mark your calendar for August 28–30 and invite friends and family to join the community tradition.
4. Almond spread recalled after allergic reaction reported (foodsafetynews.com) — A Culver City-based company, L-Nutra, has recalled a specific lot of its Prolon Apulian Almond & Cocoa Spread after tests found undeclared cashew, pistachio, and hazelnut, and one allergic reaction was reported. If you bought this spread via ProlonLife.com, check for lot L2755 with a Jan. 2, 2027 expiration date and stop using it if you have nut allergies.
