CULVER CITY, CA — The Proof of Concept Film Festival, or PROOF for short, is coming to Culver City this week, showcasing films developed to demonstrate concepts for larger projects, organizers said.
Screenings take place Thursday through Sunday downtown at the Culver Theater, 9500 Culver Blvd.
This short-film competition is presented by the American Cinematheque and provides emerging filmmakers an opportunity to share their work and pursue future filmmaking opportunities, according to an announcement from Culver City officials.
The American Cinematheque is a member-supported nonprofit organization that presents screenings and discussions about art at the Los Feliz 3, Aero Theatre and Egyptian Theatre.
"The AC believes that cinema is a communal experience with the power to entertain, enlighten and inspire, building a diverse and engaged film community through immersive film curation, conversation, and presentation," according to the organization.
The festival lineup and tickets are available on the American Cinematheque website.
