To Bang or Not?

I am the first to follow hair trends that I should clear of. The latest in hair is bangs. Is it a yes or no?

To bang or not? That is the question. Every time I flip through a fashion magazine or see an actress on television she has bangs A very popular bang trend at the moment is  known as "the fringe." Apparently, Kate Moss started the trend when she said she was bored one night and cut them herself! Remember, this is Kate Moss and there is only ONE Kate Moss.

These type of bangs are not severe or blunt. They simply are soft, wispy and almost blend in with the rest of your hair. This style is usually referred to bangs with a fringe. They are also a bit longer. They can be worn straight forward or to the side.

According to Adrianna Mora of Sol Salon in Culver City, she said, "Bangs or fringe look good if you want to add a different look to your style. Whether they are blunt or wispy and side swept, should depend on the face shape. Blunt bangs accentuate the eyes while wispy tend to soften the face. The most popular are the wispy, side-swept for a sexier look." Mora also said, "with bangs, you save tons on botox!" (Especially for 40-year old women).

I got the wispy last week and it was hard wearing them in the front. Therefore I am already back to the side. Either way, bangs are fun, add texture and give you a playful look. Furthermore, with bangs you can wear the rest of your hair straight and soft or diffuse it for some extra body.

I think about the only Bang Don't is when you have super short hair and then get super short bangs to match. (Yes, I have done this too)! Then you have a real real growing process that will last months.

Lastly, if you are really not sure, just ask either your BFF or your hairdresser. My hairdresser ALWAYS tells me the truth! (Whether I like it or not). That is a good thing. Just don't try it at home by yourself!!

The remainder of March will focus on more hair topics. Feel free to contact me at elisabethpaige5@gmail.com for questions or additional topics you would like to see covered.
