Culver City Fire Department Ranks Among Top 1% In The Nation

The fire department is ranked among the top one percent of the 43,000 American agencies the Insurance Services Office reviews.

CULVER CITY, CA – The Culver City Fire Department ranks in the top one percent in the nation, the city announced Thursday. The Insurance Services Office (ISO) recently awarded CCFD a Class 1 Public Protection Classification, which means the fire department is ranked within the top one percent of the 43,000 American agencies the ISO reviews.

This is the 23rd consecutive year that CCFD was awarded the Class 1 honor from ISO.

“Class 1 is the highest rating that can be given to fire departments throughout the country. For CCFD to maintain this excellent standard for over two decades is just incredible,” said Culver City Mayor Thomas Small. “Our community is truly lucky to have such capable and brave men and women on our public safety teams.”

ISO is a nationwide rating service used by insurance companies to help establish insurance rates for local business and residential properties, the city press release said. Fire insurance premiums are determined by the quality of service and fire protection available within a community, so CCFD’s high rating allows Culver City homeowners and businesses to "reap the lowest possible fire insurance premiums on the market," according to the city.

Congratulations to the Culver City Fire Department!
