Culver City Revises Pool Repair Closures For The Plunge
The maintenance closure will affect lap swimming, Masters swim programs and AquaFit classes.
CULVER CITY, CA — The Culver City Plunge pool’s planned maintenance closure has been rescheduled for May 10 through June 12, 2027, to allow time for repairs while avoiding conflicts with school-age competitive swimming seasons, including girls’ water polo.
City officials said the spring schedule, developed in coordination with the Public Works Department, will also involve fewer holiday interruptions than the previously proposed winter schedule.
The maintenance closure will affect lap swimming, Masters swim programs and AquaFit classes.

Officials said the repairs are needed to maintain the pool’s long-term condition and operation. Postponing the work could result in more extensive damage and a longer closure.
The Plunge also has two upcoming closures — Oct. 25 for the entire day due to staffing shortages and Dec. 19 through Jan. 2 for its usual winter closure, with the pool reopening Jan. 3.

Swimmers seeking alternatives can check availability at the West Hollywood Aquatic Center, Westwood Pool, Santa Monica Swim Center, Celes King III Pool and El Segundo Aquatic Center.
The Santa Monica Swim Center has its own winter maintenance closure from Dec. 14 through Jan. 3.
Officials said pool visitors should contact each facility directly to confirm hours, programs, fees and availability.
