On November 6, 2018, the registered voters of Culver City approved Measure K. Measure K is an annual education parcel tax levied at $189 per parcel for seven years. The funds will be used to preserve excellence in core academic programs with locally controlled funds, attract and retain qualified teachers, maintain smaller class sizes, support math, science, engineering, technology, art and music programs, improve support for students with special needs, and prepare students for college and modern careers.

Any owner of a parcel used solely for owner-occupied, single-family residential purposes who: (1) is 65 years or older before June 30th of the fiscal year immediately preceding the fiscal year in which the Tax would apply; or (2) receives Supplemental Security Income for disability, regardless of age; or (3) receives Social Security Disability Insurance benefits, regardless of age, and whose annual income does not exceed 250 percent of the 2012 federal poverty guidelines, may obtain a Tax exemption by applying to the District before June 30th of any year.
